Strategic Vision

Northeast Washington Forest Coalition (NEWFC) has a new charter document, the Strategic Vision, which builds on the 15-year old Blueprint for the forest. The Strategic Vision refreshes the Blueprint to incorporate landscape ecology and other new science, embrace societal values and changes, and reflect the 2019 Colville National Forest Plan. After nearly 20 years of collaborative successes, the Strategic Vision sets a new and exciting path for the future. Looking ahead, NEWFC will continue to build on landscape restoration accomplishments but will also focus on implementing components of the Vision such as conservation, recreation, and tribal acknowledgment that can only be realized through legislation. A new partnership, known as NEW Heritage, has formed out of NEWFC to work on this legislative effort.
